My nails are a rite of passage. They are covered with intricate designs and small and big rhinestones that symbolize my creativity. My artificial nails make a stunning first impression when I meet people; however, these nails are a part of who I am. So, let’s dive into these nails. 

Nail Tips is the base of the nail, whether long or short. This provides structure, a secured stand that will support me through anything. I have set values and morals that provide a structural way of living my life. I value many things, like family, friends, education, and creativity. This provides my view on how I act, talk, and showcase all my abilities. With my creativity, I can conquer all struggles. Having structure is a vital thing, and creativity is my structure. I can showcase myself through art and many emotions that allow people to know who I am. The structure allows me to be ready for any obstacles that may come my way because it allows me to know who I am.

Nail Prep is the most critical step when doing nails. This helps adhere the acrylic to secure the nail for a long time. I have put myself into situations that will prepare me for life. Whether big or small, everything I face, like speaking in front of my class or my church, I prepare myself to do so so that it can adhere in my life. Preparing myself for life is the most important thing because it allows me to have my view set and make mistakes. But     I also learn from myself to prepare for the obstacles I may face or things I may feel. When I do fail or when I face obstacles, I’m able to combat them because of my preparedness.

Acrylic is a substance that lays on the nail tip and forms the shape of a nail which showcases the durability of the nail. With that, I can withstand anything coming my way. I withstand all the negative aspects of my life, like negative comments that affect me, depression stages, and lack of confidence academically and personally. Having something that forms me and is so strong can block all negative aspects in my life is an excellent tool because people will look down on me and wish the worst for me. Still, I will form myself with positivity and overcome that.

Design’s the most interesting good part of the nail. Every brushstroke and application of glitter and stickers signifies creativeness; to me, it showcases the ability to succeed creatively. My life is very intricate. In each part of my life, I wake up, go to school, and do my daily activities. These are all insipid parts of my life. How do I make my life enjoyable by viewing life as a design? I would draw out my daily life in every detail, showcasing what I have overcome in showcasing what I believe is my future. Life can be tedious, but I must find a way to make it enjoyable. I have to find a way to find out who I am personally. I am a creative individual who likes to perfect every detail, but I know my mistakes make me stronger. With that, I opened my nail business, showcasing my creative abilities. I can tell you I succeeded because there is a significant difference between where I started. I am now doing every interesting detailed design for customers. My nail designs are my success and remind me that with my mistakes and failures, I can still make something out of myself.

Topcoat is an ending polish that shines the nail to secure everything in place. The topcoat allows the nail tip, nail prep, acrylic, and design to be safe. It keeps us safe and polishes it with a shiny coat to be seen. The top coat in my life is my education. Being educated allows me to shine. It allows me to stand out. Striving for education also does that. But we can also say that I am my own topcoat because I shine through my mistakes and obstacles.

My rite of passage allowed me to know who I am because it’s a part of who I am.
